Art Dubai’s extensive talks and conference programme brings together a diverse range of experts from Modern Arab scholars to international artists, innovators and some of the world’s brightest creative minds. Featuring the renowned Global Art Forum - themed “The New New Normal” - as well as the second edition of Art Dubai Digital's Digital Summit, alongside talks with artists and collectors.
Now in its 5th year, programme will be led by Peju Alatise, who represented Nigeria at the 2017 Venice Biennale, and Alia Hussain Lootah, an Emirati artist and educator. Featuring a collaboration with two artists for the first time, the workshops will explore local ecosystems through different artistic lenses.
Major new digital artworks by Ouchhh Studio, Breakfast, Jacopo Di Cera, and Hybrid Xperience will debut at Art Dubai Digital, in a series of works exploring how human-made creations can divert our attention from pressing environmental, social, and cultural issues.
‘Directions (Merging),’ اتجاهات (تمازج) is an ambitious new digital installation by Emirati artist Mohammed Kazem, commissioned by Julius Baer. Debuting at the fair, the work places the coordinates of Dubai at the centre of the space, inviting visitors to converge. The viewer is surrounded by walls containing a collection of coordinates lining every inch, placed against a backdrop of moving waves, highlighting the feeling of borderless flow.
Each night of the fair, Art Dubai hosts After Dark inviting some of the best up-and-coming DJs from around the world. This year's programme will offer a diverse mix of disco, funk, and world dance music.
